Character: lobo (ashtrayguts)

Lobo is a hybrid fennec fox with bat ears from ashtrayguts' Morphotypes setting. From its wiki:

Indirect Morphotype — A morphotype that is unable to control the process or frequency of their transformations. Indirect Morphs can be either completely unaware or hypervigilant of their transformations and the behavioral patterns that cause them, and require prescription strength morph suppressants taken periodically throughout the day to prevent any transformations from happening. Lobo's Indirect Morph type is Physiological and Instinctual Type (IM-PIT), where it grows in size and reverts to base instinct behavior. Transformations are typically triggered by built up stress hormones, and the transformation itself, on top of possible outside provocation, heightens the stress further, which can create an endless feedback loop that perpetuates the transformation.
Lobo wanted a normal childhood. Desperately. But it couldn't. Its parents were not very well off, and it underwent fairly regular abuse both at school and at home. It was regularly neglected as a child due to its parents’ fear of its transformations, and unwillingness to do anything with it. It was consistently expelled for transforming during school periods and lashing out at students and teachers, despite never causing any actual harm. It all came to a head when, after months of relentless bullying by a group of older kids, it broke— transforming into a massive werefox creature and violently attacking the main bully of the group. The kid did not survive. The incident made international news, leading the family to go into hiding. After this, the parents took it upon themselves to quell Lobo's internal monster once and for all, leaving it in the hands of a quack doctor, who went to work and shunted the part of its brain involved in the transformations. Hence the large screw in its head.
Ever since, their transformations have been fortunately far less frequent, in trade for some periods of intense brain fog and poor memory. However when the transformations do occur, they are equally, if not more, violent than they were when it was younger, due to the long term stress built up over time. Going to a support group and seeking therapy has helped immensely. Casey's presence has been equally comforting. They hope to bring more awareness and safety measures for Indirect Morphs, one step at a time.
